NSF H24A 1938. Also sold as 'Aristona'.

This radio is made in 1938 by NSF, which was a Philips business-unit. This radio offers 8 presets for the favourite stations.

NSF H12A (1940)

Bands:  SW MW LW
Tubes: EF9 EK2 EBL1 AZ1

H203u 1941 Philips radio.
Production of the 203U was comparable in the German factory of Aachen, near the Belgium border and in the Prague plant in the occupied Czechoslowakia.
As transportation costs were high and labour was cheap, the Czech factory had all the components home-made, just as the Dutch.

All versions have medium (BC) and long wave bands and no "Enemies" station names on the dial: it was strictly forbidden to listen to Anglo-American broadcasts!
The official wartime life of this radio ended in late 1944, when the last batch of 4500 units traveling by train from Aachen to Berlin actually were destroyed by a bombing of the allied forces.
By then, the 204U and 208U models with short waves and only a few changes, were already into production.
These were popular radios in Western Europe in the hard times just after the war, with a no more 'Censored" dial.

Philips radio H204u, manufactured by N.S.F.
About the same frame as the NSF version.
Heavily damaged.

In Prague: by the end of the war this country was under the Soviet influence.
Philips, as well as its all-time competitor, Telefunken, went on making sets in a heavily uncertain environment till 1946/47, when all the factories became state-owned under the brand Tesla.
The 208U, developed out of first "Philetta" 203U, under new shells, with different names and variations in design, became the best-sold radio for Tesla in the Eastern bloc countries.
Without concurrency it was produced till 1958 to be redesigned with transistors.

Twee Philips radio's, waarschijnlijk in Tsjecho-Slowakije gemaakt.
In 1947 ging deze Praagse fabriek over in staatshanden en bleef men tot 1958 deze toestellen produceren -zonder enige concurrentie- onder de naam Tesla.

Philips radio H204U-14 'Philetta 2', manufactured in Czechoslovakia,1944-1946,
One of the very first European 4-tube
radios from 1941.
This set 204U (model 14) was made in Prague,
somewhere between 1944 and 1946.

NSF radio 1944. H208U Philite

NSF radio 1946
Zie hier een bijzondere schaalopdruk:
Herrijzend Nederland staat er ook op!

N.S.F. radio type H54U. 1946

This radio is produced by NSF in The Netherlands in 1945-1946 under a Philips license and is electrically equivalent to the Philips model 208U.

However, the cabinet is different (material is wood, whereas the original 208U is constructed from bakelite). Interesting feature of this radio is that the dial shows a rather special radio station "Herrijzend Nederland", a Dutch station that was founded by the end of World War 2.

Many thanks to Gidi Verheijen for this beautiful picture.

N.S.F. radio type H54U, detailopname.
Let op het toen actuele radiostation
'Herrijzend Nederland'.
Het behoeft geen betoog uit welke tijd deze radio stamt.

Veel dank aan Gidi Verheijen voor deze mooie afbeelding.
